Statement

When in the 1980s my wife Brenda and I first discovered the North Norfolk coast we were instantly moved by the overlall depth of unity and peace that is so very special to this part of the country. We love to  wander the constantly rolling landscape, woodlands and coastal marsh areas, sensing their vast open skies, subtle quality of light, colour and sheer sense of space that simply demands to be painted. This is what I try  to cshre through my work.

For  number of years we took part successfully in Norfolk Open Studios and I used to demonstrate regularly to local art groups and give private one to one tuition. Now, my work is available directly through this website but can also be seen in the Binham Art Group website and in The Chequers PH gallery in Binham. We also exhibit in the annual art exhibitions in Binham nd Langham.

Biography

I was born in 1938 and throughout my life I have loved to paint. I obtained the first distinction at GCE A level  Art in London. I studied Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College, London. During my professional career I painted for recreation, mostly in watercolour or pen and wash. I started to paint acrylic/oil landscapes after I retired to Norfolk in 2001.
